Twisted Fate set to become the 51st champion in the Teamfight Tactics roster

Twisted Fate is set to become the 51st champion to join the Teamfight Tactics roster, and the first new addition to the game since it's beta release a week ago, according to former Summoner's Rift balance team member Riot Wittrock.

"Champion #51 is coming to TFT..." Wittrock tweeted out on July 1, alongside a mysterious image that appears to be a cropped edge of Twisted Fate's arm from his Cutpurse character splash alongside Graves, who is already in Riot's autobattler roster. Further fuel was added to the fire when popular community figurehead and TFT product lead Richard “MapleNectar” Henkel retweeted the information.

This follows the announcement from Riot earlier this week that suggested there would be two ways that new champions were added to the game - either by adding a champion or two to the new title every patch or two or by dumping entire sets of champions into the game at once.

The first, which this new Twisted Fate tease clearly follows, is aimed to "prolong the experience of exploration and discovery" for the TFT player base.

“Our goal is to give you a fresh experience of Teamfight Tactics through a meaningfully different collection of mechanics and theme,” Riot Volty said of the company's release plans. “You’ll have this experience while still applying what you’ve learned in previous sets—the rules of TFT and some of its content, like items, will be retained.”

Now the only question is what kind of champion will he be. Considering it's his Cutpurse skin which he shares with Graves, it's likely he'll be a pirate. Adding to that that he's usually an AP carry in League of Legends, and it stands to reason we could be seeing TF join the roster as a Pirate/Sorcerer. We will just have to wait, for the moment, to find out which of his abilities will be coming into the game as his mana-dependent ultimate, however.
