LoL Worlds Pick’Em Is Back This 2023: Everything You Need to Know

League of Legends World Champions 2023 is already on the horizon, featuring a brand-new Swiss-style format. As expected, the annual Pick’em event has also arrived. Here's everything you need to know about how to play it, the start date, rewards, and more.

The Pick'em event has just opened, few days before the start of LoL Worlds 2023. Pick'Em provides an excellent opportunity for players to test their knowledge through prediction challenges and earn generous rewards. By predicting which teams will win or lose, players can accumulate points and compete against thousands of others to claim the top rewards.

How to play LoL Worlds Pick’Em 2023

Players participating in Pick'em will make predictions for the entire tournament, including the teams they believe will win in each stage. All players will receive the same set of questions, and making correct picks will enable them to accumulate points, which are necessary to unlock rewards.

Crystal Ball in Lol Worlds 2023 Pick'Em

In addition to the traditional Pick'Em, players can also test their prediction skills and luck with the Crystal Ball. The Crystal Ball presents 20 questions that must be answered before the tournament begins. It's worth noting, however, that The Coin will have no use in the Crystal Ball, which means that players will need to choose, otherwise they will receive zero points.

Tournament Picks for LoL Worlds 2023 Pick'Em

Play-in

Following the Crystal Ball, players can head to the Tournament Picks where they must choose exactly two teams that they predict to advance among the following teams during the Play-In stage.

Start Date: October 4, 2023 8:00 AM PT

End Date: October 10, 2023 12:15 AM PT

Swiss Stage

For the Swiss Stage, participants must pick eight teams that will advance to the knockout stage.

Start Date: October 15, 2023 8:00 AM PT

End Date: October 19, 2023 10:00 PM PT

Knockout Stage

The Swiss Stage will be followed by the Knockout stage. Pick'em for each stage in the Knockout stages will begin before each game starts, so make sure to cast your votes before the time runs out.

Quarterfinals

Quarterfinals game 1 will end on November 2, 2023 at 1:00 AM PT
Quarterfinals game 2 will end on November 3, 2023 at 1:00 AM PT
Quarterfinals game 3 will end on November 4, 2023 at 1:00 AM PT
Quarterfinals game 3 will end on November 5, 2023 at 1:00 AM PT

Semifinals

Semifinals game 1 will end on November 11, 2023 at 12:00 AM PT
Semifinals game 1 will end on November 12, 2023 at 12:00 AM PT

Finals

Final game will end on November 19, 2023.

Scoring in LoL Worlds 2023 Pick'Em

Crystal Ball: Scoring for Crystal Ball predictions will take place after the World Final concludes. All points earned for correct picks will be on a separate leaderboard t from the traditional Pick'Em points.

Play-in stage points: 10 Points per each correct play-in picks.

Swiss Stage:

5 Points for correctly picked team to advance to Quarterfinals
Additional 15 Points if you correct pick a team that goes 3-0
Additional 20 Points for accurately predicting all 8 teams to advance with an accurate 3-0 pick.

Knockout Stage:

Quarterfinals: 10 points each
Semifinals: 15 points each
Worlds Finals: 20 points

The Coin in Lol Worlds 2023 Pick’em

The Coin serves as a lifesaver for players in case they miss a stage or forget to make a choice. This feature will make a random selection for players, but the points you earn will have a small deduction. It's important to note, however, that the Coin will not be applicable in The Crystal Ball.

Leaderboards

The Leaderboard is also back! Through accurate picks and multiple wins, one could end up being in the elite 100 on the Global Leaderboard. In addition, players can also create their own leaderboard, invite their friends and compete against them.

Rewards for LoL Worlds 2023 Pick’ems

After securing a spot on the leaderboard and showing it off to your friends, players can earn various rewards just by participating in Pick'Em. However, those who earn high points are guaranteed to receive exclusive rewards.

Many players are hoping to guess all the correct answers in high hopes of accomplishing the "Perfect Picks". Perfect Picks simply entail correctly choosing the right options in Traditional Pick'em and securing all available points. Given the long list of questions to answer, achieving Perfect Picks is actually more challenging than it may initially appear.
