How to Get Blue Essence in League of Legends?

Blue Essence is one of the primary in-game currencies in League of Legends. It is mainly used to unlock different champions, among other things.  The fact that there are so many champions on the current roster only serves to highlight the value of Blue Essence.

What is Blue Essence in League of Legends?

Blue Essence, previously known as the Influence Points (IP), is a currency that all players have seen and will need throughout their stay in League of Legends. It is displayed as a shard-like icon and can be found on the top right of the League client, just below Riot Points.

How to quickly farm for Blue Essence in League of Legends?

So far, aside from playing, there is no other option to obtain Blue Essence. As of writing, the purchase of Blue Essence through real money or Riot Points isn’t available yet. Luckily for its players, there are plenty of free ways how to gather Blue Essence.

Playing

Players can join any matchmade game daily and play until they score their first victory to earn 50 Blue Essence and 400 XP. Despite the amount being little, it is still an excellent source of BE, especially if you play the game frequently.

Additionally, champion capsules containing champion shards are given each time they level up. Champion shards then, can be disenchanted on the loot tab to become Blue Essence.

Hextech Chests

25% of the time, this particular chest will contain a champion shard, which you can disenchant for a few blue essences.

Events and Missions

The game has a variety of events with a wide range of themes, and those events are accompanied by missions. By completing these missions successfully, you can obtain rewards, such as Blue Essence.

Players can visit the Event Shop to swap their tokens for Blue Essence or champion shards. 50 tokens can be used to buy 50 champion shards, whereas 1 token can buy 1 BE.

What can you buy using Blue Essence in League of Legends?

Blue Essence can be used to:

• Unlock champions
• Upgrade a champion mastery and get a Level 6 or 7 badge.
• Purchase an additional rune page (6,300BE)
• Change Summoner Name (13,900BE)
• Buy Starter Series Eternal Pass (14,750BE)
• Purchase Chroma, Emotes, Icon, Ward skin, and other Essence Emporium exclusive content.
