This past weekend saw the conclusion of North America’s final Ignition Series event. Hosted by B Site, the Valorant Pop Flash tournament featured the strongest line-up of rosters we have seen so far.
After narrowly losing out to TSM at the FaZe Clan Invitational earlier in the month, the Sentinels came back with a vengeance. They stormed through to Grand Finals without a single slip up.
Surprisingly to some players and fans, after progressing through the upper bracket, the Sentinels were not given a map advantage in the final best of three against Team Envy.

They wouldn’t let this demotivate them though, they had already beaten Envy 2-0 in their opening match.
While the individual maps were not a total whitewash score-wise, the Sentinels did make it look easy. Jay “Sinatraa” Won was on fire, proving once and for all that his transition from Overwatch was not a mistake.
Envy played some solid rounds in game three on Split, but in the end they could do nothing to slow the momentum of Sinatraa and co.

The series finished 3-0, and the Sentinels added yet another first place to their impressive list of accolades, securing a cool $25,000 in the process.
With rivals TSM failing to make it through group stages, this victory gives the Sentinels a massive claim to the title of best Valorant team in NA. Their consistency has been insane, and they just made perhaps the most competitive tournament so far look like a walk in the park.
The Ignition Series has been a great success and it will be exciting to see what’s next for Valorant esports. Riot has done a fantastic job of letting the scene shape itself and maybe now we will start to see some bigger events with even more money on the line.
