Following the recent news that 100 Thieves will be fielding a competitive roster in Valorant, global esports brand G2 have announced that they will also be entering the fray.
Surprise, surprise, it’s another ex CS:GO star that will be captaining the team. Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho is the first piece of the puzzle and will be working with management to build out the strongest squad possible.
Mixwell was no doubt highly sought-after by multiple major orgs, owing to his impressive background in gaming. In Counter-Stike, he was one of the “winningest Spanish players of all time” and is no stranger to the main-stage.

His talents appear to have translated to Valorant seamlessly. Mixwell was victorious at the Twitch Rivals: Valorant Launch Showdown, the biggest event to date. On top of this, his time at Optic Gaming allowed him to grow a thriving personal brand.
Back in 2018, Mixwell joined the G2 Esports CS:GO team as a temporary player. He said that the return made sense, explaining “most of my fans are also G2 fans”. Now, the 24-year old’s goal is to become the best Valorant player in the world.
With Riot Games revealing the Valorant Ignition Series and creating an outline for competitive Valorant in 2020, it is likely that more signings will follow shortly.
