Hiko reveals pro Valorant Agent tier list

If you follow Valorant content on YouTube, Twitter or anywhere else online, you will have seen your fair share of Agent tier lists in the last couple of months. However, it’s not everyday you get to hear from one of the best players in the game.

After recently finishing one place outside the money in the T1 x NSG Valorant Showdown, Spencer “Hiko” Martin discussed what he noticed about the current Agent meta with his Twitch stream. He clarified that he is rating characters on their viability in top level competitive play, so they are not necessarily the best choices for unrated matches or solo queuing.

Hiko’s “S tier” included two of the three Agents we recently suggested you try if you are struggling in ranked. He felt that Sage is the most obvious candidate, saying “You can literally turn a man down situation to even…bait the kill, win clutch rounds”. Even after her recent nerf, Sage remains incredibly important.

Brimstone also made S tier, but perhaps more interesting was the second pick, Cypher. Hiko admitted that this may be a hot take, but explained that roughly 95% of all matches in the T1 tournament featured the Agent. A major selling point was Cypher’s ability to hold solo bomb sites.

Down on the other end of the scale, were Reyna and Viper. Firstly critiquing Viper, Hiko told viewers, “I think she’s good, I just think people don’t know how to play her yet”. Currently she is the least utilized Agent across all tournaments, but there is still potential for the future.

“I actually think Reyna is trash… maybe not trash trash” laughed Hiko. His low rating of Valorant’s newest recruit may seem controversial, but the 100T captain offered some solid reasoning. The fact that so many of her abilities rely on getting kills makes Reyna almost irrelevant in the pro scene.

Hiko definitely had some interesting ideas about the other Agents so be sure to watch the full video. As time goes by, new characters release and players learn, the meta will continue to change. Who knows, maybe in a month or two, Viper will be on top.
