Blast Valorant Twitch Invitational: Last EU Ignition Series event announced

Following the successful conclusion of the Valorant Ignition Series in North America, the final tournament of the series for EU has now been revealed.

Tournament organiser Blast has already made its name in hugely popular esports titles like CS:GO and Dota, and is now turning its attention to Valorant.

The Blast Valorant Twitch Invitational will take place from September 11 to September 13 and will feature some of the most exciting talent in the game.

Four squads will compete in a double elimination best of 3 bracket, with the format moving to best of 5 for the final. FunPlus Phoenix, NiP, G2 Esports and Team Liquid are the teams set to fight for a share of the combined €50,000 ($59,000) prize pool.

Up until now, G2 Esports have dominated the Valorant scene in Europe. Led by superstar captain Óscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho, G2 seem to win everything they touch, and it will take something really special to dethrone them.

The action will be broadcast exclusively on Twitch, so be sure to give twitch.tv/BLASTtv a follow. The organisers also hinted that they will be announcing “further exciting competitions and features of the live show before Friday’s opening match”.

Based on the schedule found on the official blastvalorant.com website, it looks like a series of best of 1 Show Matches will run alongside the main event. These will likely be a bit less intense, giving fans a chance to see some of their favorite players who didn’t feature in the tournament.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic show and a fitting send off for the Ignition Series. We can’t wait to see what Blast can bring to Valorant!
