Menu Glitch in Modern Warfare Reveals New Details for Call of Duty Warzone

It seems that the floodgates have opened on Activision's unannounced Call of Duty Warzone project as the leaks continue.

It seems that the floodgates have opened on Activision's unannounced Call of Duty Warzone project as the leaks continue.

Following the initial leak of the supposed promotional art for Warzone, a few players have reported a glitch which allows them to access parts of the Warzone mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale mode may be named Warzone
With the launch excitement of Modern Warfare Season 2 dying down, interest has suddenly peaked once again as what appears to be promotional art for a title named Call of Duty: Warzone has leaked online from an anonymous source.

Players on Twitter and Reddit have shown various screenshots and gameplay depicting the pre-match lobby, as well as the tutorial mode for Warzone. Just as we've thought, Warzone is in fact a Battle Royale mode that appears to be coming to Modern Warfare.

Thanks to the latest discoveries, we now have information regarding Weapons, Loot Rarity, Supply Stations, and Vehicles.

Modes

Limited details regarding the modes in Warzone have also been found in the various menus which players have been able to access.

The standard for a Battle Royale title seems to be Solos (1 player), Duos (2 players), and Squads (4 players), but if an in-game prompt is to be believed - Trios (3 players) will also be available.

It is also confirmed through similar sources that Squad's will (initially, at least) be the largest team-based mode. The description for Warzone is as follows: "Large map mode with up to four squad mates."

As expected, players will also have the ability to disable Squad Fill, if they'd like to play team-based modes on their own.

Weapons and Loot

Weapons

Seemingly all of the weapons that are available in the Multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare will also be available in Warzone. However, it appears that loot rarities will affect the power of your weapon - perhaps in the form of attachments.

The known item rarities aren't anything unique, but we felt that it was worth mentioning anyway:

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary

Supply Stations

Players are able to locate and interact with Supply Stations which will seemingly be placed randomly throughout the map. Here they can use Plunder (or Cash) to purchase Perks, Scorestreaks, and other items to gain an advantage in the battle.

The items available for purchase in Supply Stations are as follows:

  • Armor Plate Bundle ($1,500)
  • Gas Mask ($3,000)
  • Precision Airstrike ($3,000)
  • Shield Turret ($3,000)
  • Cluster Strike ($3,500)
  • UAV ($4,000)
  • Munitions Box ($5,000)
  • Drop Kit Marker ($6,000)
Loot

Vehicles

In one section of the Warzone Tutorial mode, the item and location pinging system is detailed. During this, a list of vehicles and their corresponding icons is shown to the players. This tells us that there, on release, there should be 5 different vehicle types:

  • ATV
  • SUV
  • Heli
  • Cargo Truck
  • Tac Rover

All of these vehicles can already be found across the Ground War and Spec Ops mode throughout the various levels. For example, the Heli and ATV can be found in Tavorsk District.

Vehicle

What are your thoughts on Warzone so far? Neither Activision or Infinity Ward have yet to officially confirm its existence, but it seems that the leaks aren't going to stop anytime soon.

If you do happen to be lucky enough to end up in the Warzone section of Modern Warfare, be careful what you post! Activision is handing out DMCA Takedowns and Copyright Strikes to users who are uploading any content from Warzone.

We'll keep you updated when an official announcement and release date are given, stay tuned to @CODTracker!

Special thanks to @The_Vice_Squad for the artwork showcased in this article's header!
