Infinity Ward Now Notifies of Successful Reports in Warzone and Modern Warfare

Players who violate Infinity Ward's policies disrupt Warzone and Modern Warfare games for everyone.

Following last week's announcement of further enforcement against cheaters in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, players have began to see confirmations of their reports in-game!

On April 21st, Infinity Ward took to Twitter to update the community on the ongoing fight against cheaters in both Battle Royale and Multiplayer modes. In this announcement, the Studio states that players will now recieve an in-game confirmation when players who they've report has been banned.

As announced, players on Reddit quickly began to see this change upon logging into the game. If a player who you've report has been banned, a new slide in the Message of the Day modal will appear which displays the following message!

Banned Player

Thank you for your report. Players who violate our policies disrupt Warzone and Modern Warfare games for everyone.

We cannot provide specific details about account penalties, but we can say your report did result in a player ban.

Thank you for helping us create a fun and fair experience for all.
This feels so good... Sorry for bad quality from r/modernwarfare

In the same announcement, Infinity Ward states that the following improvements to cheater enforcement are planned:

  • Additional dedicated security updates
  • Updated matchmaking to match suspected cheaters together
  • Increased resources across backend tech, studio, and enforcement teams
  • Report-a-player functionality in killcam and spectate modes

The fight against cheaters is never-ending, but thankfully, Infinity Ward appears to be in for the long haul. As of April 13th, just over a month following Warzone's release, the Studio claims to have issued over 70,000 bans. This has been a rather controversal topic in the community, but we look forward to what the teams at Infinity Ward have in store to prevent cheaters from ruining the player experience.
