Activision and Sledgehammer Games will reveal Call of Duty: Vanguard, worldwide, on Thursday, August 19th at 10:30AM PT. The reveal will take place within Call of Duty: Warzone via an in-game event, similar to last year's reveal of Treyarch's title, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
After months of rumors and speculation surrounding the 2021 release of Call of Duty, as well as teasers depicting a WWII setting, Vanguard is now confirmed and we can't wait to see what the team at Sledgehammer Games has in store.

- Where: Call of Duty: Warzone
The Battle of Verdansk
A new weapon is rolling into Verdansk. Assets in the field suggest an armored vehicle, but intel is limited. Target arrival on location is 8/19. Squad up and work together to take it down.
Your target is a heavily armored train – a moving fortress with multiple, lethal turrets, but we’ve identified weak points. Your primary objectives are to plant TNT charges in the tunnel by Verdansk Hospital, where we know it will pass through according to the latest intel.
Until today, you fought against each other. NATO against Warsaw Pact. Coalition against Allegiance. Now, with this new threat, we are all one squad for this mission.
There will be a playlist update at approximately 10:30 AM PT – do not quit out of Warzone if you are playing prior to this update, as it will happen in real time and not require a re-launch of the game. Just keep checking the Play tab for a live update that will bring about the start of the Battle.

Although this announcement is the first official mention of the title, the existence of Vanguard has had a long and bumpy road leading up to this point. Information on the title began to surface in March by notable sources Eurogamer and VGC.
In brief, Call of Duty: Vanguard is reportedly based in WWII and will feature a Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies mode, the latter of which will be co-developed by Treyarch. The game will utilize an enhanced iteration of the engine found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). It is expected to release on Friday, November 5th, 2021, but players may get hands-on experience as early as this month through a limited-time, potentially exclusive to PlayStation, alpha release.
