Reveal Lead-Up Begins for Call of Duty: Vanguard

It's happening. An official reveal of Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: Vanguard is approaching as teasers begin.

The wait is finally over. The official reveal of the 2021 Call of Duty release is upon us after a very rough week prior to this point. Activision has began to tease what's known to be Call of Duty: Vanguard, a WWII-era title developed by Sledgehammer Games.

Teasers

Incoming

Following the Season Five update for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, players immediately discovered assets relating to the upcoming reveal of the long-rumored Call of Duty: Vanguard. Among these assets were images depicting the title's key art, logo, and pre-order editions and the included bonus content.

Shortly thereafter, the Call of Duty Twitter account leaned in to the situation - rather than pretending that it hadn't happened. This move was overwhelmingly welcomed by the community who feels that this modern approach to marketing and social media should be embraced moving forward, and we couldn't help but agree.

Western Front

On the morning of the release of Season Five, several Influencers were met with a Direct Message from the Call of Duty Twitter account. In this unexpected message was a video simply labeled "Western Front." Although the video isn't of considerable length, it serves as a great means to the beginning of the lead-up to a reveal. Scenes of note include...

  • Task Force insignia
  • WWII-era helmet
  • Sten submachine gun
  • M24 Stick Grenades
  • "Sgt. Kingsley" sign

Exfil

As players dive into the Season Five content in Warzone, those who are skilled enough to secure the victory will be met with a surprise twist ending and an unfamiliar face. A WWII-era character, known as Polina according to the game files, will snipe the last player to board the exfil chopper.

Eastern Front

Further introducing fans to the sharpshooter spotted in the previous teaser, a brief teaser video has been delivered to Russian Content Creators. In this short, we several sniper-related items and another look at the Task Force insignia from the earlier teaser.

Train Station Announcer

An unfamiliar voice can be heard throughout the Train Station and Airport in Warzone announcing information related to an unknown train. The voice is that of a female with a Russian accent. During the announcements, various televisions throughout the map will display a static image.

  • "May I have your attention please? The next train does not stop at this location."
  • "Please do not leave any luggage unattended, station security will be alerted."
  • "Now boarding trains with the following destinations..."

North African Front

On the evening of August 14th, Australian Content Creators received a new teaser snippet which depicts the British flag and gives fans a closer look at the Task Force insignia spotted in the previous teasers.

Pacific Front

Late-night on August 14th, Indian Content Creators received a new teaser snippet which depicts crashed fighter planes, a vest which reads "No guts, no glory," and another look at the aforementioned "Task Force Vanguard" insignia. North American Content Creators would go on to receive this same teaser later in the day, labeled "Pacific Front."
