Just hours ahead of The Battle of Verdansk and the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard, details of an upcoming Multiplayer Alpha for Sledgehammer Games' title have surfaced via the PlayStation Store. Included in this discovery is the installation size for PlayStation 5, as well as our first look at the associated art assets. Further details, such as a release date and availability, remain unknown at this time.
Although the upcoming Alpha has been listed on the PlayStation Store this morning, it's unclear exactly when Activision plans to announce it. Previous rumors have suggested a release date of Friday, August 27th, which would suggest an announcement within the reveal trailer following today's reveal event in Warzone.
Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha
According to the PlayStation Store listing, the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha will require a 20.38GB download to install on PlayStation 5. Assets for the application suggest that the Alpha will exclusively feature the Champion Hill mode.

Champion Hill
According to Tom Henderson, who has recently shared many details relating to Vanguard, Champion Hill is an all-new Multiplayer mode that will debut in this year's title. The mode has three core principles, which are as follows...
- Lives Count: Be the last team with lives to win. Eliminate enemies to reduce their life count.
- Earn Cash: Grab cash, weapons, lives and armor from arenas.
- Buy Stations: Buy weapons, lives, perks and streaks in the octagon. Upgrade your weapons anytime.
Further claims have been made suggesting that Champion Hill will replace the Gunfight mode found in both Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. If this is the case, it is possible that the new mode will have its own, unique maps.
