What’s new in the Valorant 1.03 patch?

Another week, another update. Valorant version 1.03 is here with some significant Guardian changes.

The latest Valorant patch is nothing game breaking, but still includes some interesting adjustments.

Most notably, the Guardian has been updated in order to make it a more viable option. It has been stuck in an awkward middle ground value wise, meaning it was often neglected.

Now, the Guardian’s price has been reduced from 2700 to 2500. Its penetration power has also been increased from medium to heavy. These changes, along with a small fire rate nerf aim to “sharpen the Guardian’s identity as a long-range, versatile weapon”.

Elsewhere, Spike Rush has yet another exciting new orb, going by the name “Twin Hunters”. When captured, the orb will release a pair of ravenous hunting wolves to sniff out the two closest opponents.

Once a wolf spies an enemy, they will speed up. When they get close enough, the wolf will dash, causing a 4 -second slowing and near-sighting effect upon impact. These wolves have 150 HP and can take damage, they will time out after 15 seconds or when their prey is eliminated.

Some adjustments have also been made to the surrender option added in the previous patch. A neat new button has been added to the in-game menu, so you no longer have to worry about typing in commands to call a surrender vote.

If things are looking bleak, you can now call a surrender vote in round 5 rather than waiting till round 8. In Unrated mode, the requirement to pass a vote has changed from 100% to 80%. For competitive mode, votes must still be unanimous to go through.
