VCT LOCK//IN Day 6: Recap

Day 6 recapped!

DAY 6 of the VALORANT Champions Tour first international event in São Paulo, Brazil took place, here is a recap of all the action!

LOUD 2-1 NRG Esports

The first match of DAY Six was between North America and South America, NRG versus LOUD.

The first map, NRG's map-pick, was Split. This map backfired on NRG, not the first time a map backfires on NRG this competition. NRG players struggled to even go past 10 kills each, in other words, LOUD stomped NRG. With a great showing from LOUD's new additions Tuyz and Cauanzin, the first map ended in LOUD's favor, a whooping 13-3 scoreline.

The second map, LOUD's map-pick, was Pearl. Surprisingly, this map also backfired on LOUD, but was not a clean sweep from NRG either. Pearl went to overtime, however, NRG managed to steal the win from LOUD in overtime and drag the Brazilian representative to Map 3!

The third map, the decider, was Fracture. This map is where the internet broke down, this game had multiple insane clutches, highlights and an overall showcase of what each team is capable of! Fracture went to overtime multiple times, but after a long fight, the Brazilian giants came on top, sending NRG Esports, the last North American representative team home, with an 18-16 scoreline.

Securing the win, LOUD advance to the finals of the competition (Alpha versus Omega finals stage). Their next series comes against DRX. Ending with a loss, NRG Esports will leave this competition.

Leading LOUD stats-wise was Tuyz, the newest addition and prospect of the Brazilian team, securing a whooping 1.26 Rating, a respected 213 ACS throughout the three maps and a 1.2 KD.

DRX 2-1 Talon Esports

The second match of DAY Six was between South Korea and APAC, DRX versus Talon Esports.

The first map, Talon Esports' map-pick, was Fracture. This map was a close game between the two teams, Talon Esports proving to be the better team however and ending the game in an hour, with a 13-10 scoreline. GarnetS proved to be one of the talents to be looking out for in the Pacfic League later this year!

The second map, DRX's map-pick, was Ascent. Unlike the first map, Ascent was not a close game at all, DRX managed to shut down GarnetS and his shenanigans and take Talon Esports into Map 3, Icebox! With a whooping 13-6 scoreline.

The last map of the Alpha Bracket, the decider of who goes into the finals of the competition and who leaves the competition, was Icebox. With highlights from Zest, MaKo and BuZz, the Korean squad managed to takedown Talon Esports and send them home, winning the series and concluding the Alpha Bracket in a 13-10 scoreline.

Securing the win, DRX advance to the finals of the competition (Alpha versus Omega finals stage). Their next series comes against LOUD. Ending with a loss, Talon Esports will leave this competition.

Leading DRX stats-wise was Zest, securing a 1.17 Rating, a 231 ACS throughout the three maps and a 1.25 KD.
