VCT EMEA WEEK 5: Recap, Scorelines and Standings

All the action you've missed from VCT EMEA WEEK 5

Week five of the VCT EMEA league saw some exciting matches and surprising upsets. Here's a recap of the fifth week of the competition.

RECAP

In the first matchup of the week, Team Liquid emerged victorious against Giants Gaming. Team Liquid won both Icebox and Lotus despite a first map loss. With an impressive performance from Team Liquid's Nats. This win means the world to Team Liquid, it solidifies Team Liquid as one of the strongest contenders for EMEA's best after a rough start to the season.

BBL Esports managed to crawl back from the depths of EMEA's leaderboard following their win against Team Heretics with an important 2-1 scoreline. The match was a fierce battle, filled with nail-biting moments and thrilling clutches from both teams. BBL Esports took Haven despite it going into overtime and stomped Team Heretics in Icebox, making a statement in the process.

Meanwhile, Karmine Corp continue to showcase their improvement, with a hard-fought win against KOI, showcasing a high level of determination and refusing to let their rough start to the season define them. KC took Lotus in a comfortable fashion, then proceeded to lose Ascent, however, KC managed to end the series in Haven.

In a dominating performance, FNATIC remained unbeaten after defeating FUT Esports 2-0. FNATIC left no room for FUT to mount a comeback, taking both Icebox and Lotus in ease.

NAVI continues to pose a threat to FNATIC following an important win against Team Vitality with a commanding 2-0 scoreline. NAVI's Cned dominated the show, letting VIT's Twisten know who's the better duelist.

SCORELINES

An important win for NAVI, it showcases NAVI's capabilities as a team and sends a message to FNATIC that NAVI is not far behind and to be careful. It also provides the team with enough momentum and motivation to keep on performing. NAVI solidifies their title as the league's dark horse.

FNATIC 2-0 FUT Esports

This game marked the last time we'd watch Icebox, as the map leaves the official VALORANT competition map pool. FNATIC made sure that this map leaves in fashion, dominating Fut Esports and showcasing that Icebox leaving the map rotation might be a buff for the rest of EMEA teams. FNATIC remains unbeaten, with an impressive record, however, NAVI continues to pop off as well, posing a real threat to this super team.

Karmine Corp 2-1 KOI

Karmine Corp is back! KC refused to let the rough start to EMEA league define them, kept working hard, and now KC is reaping. KC avoided being sent to the bottom of the leaderboard and eventual elimination with this win.

BBL Esports 2-1 Team Heretics

Similar to Karmine Corp, BBL Esports is pulling the comeback of all time if the team keeps on performing like this. A super important win to the Turkish team as this means an increase in their chances to make it to the next stage, however, the same can't be said about Team Heretics, as this loss sends Team Heretics to the bottom of the leaderboard and eventual elimination unless TH pulls a miracle.

Team Liquid 2-1 Giants Gaming

Team Liquid is done with the criticism, the team is showcasing a different VALORANT, and it is working. With this win, Team Liquid sits at the third place of the leaderboard, almost guaranteeing their spot in the next stage of the competition.
