Tencent to launch a VALORANT league in China according to report

Is the Chinese League coming soon? The answer is yes according to reports.

The NPPA (National Press and Publication Administration) has released a list of approved International games in China, and one title stands out: VALORANT. Valorant is called "Fearless Covenant" in the list, as we reported before.

VALORANT is among the approved international games in China, however, there has been no official release, but the game is set to get a domestic launch sometime soon.

Two of the most famous Chinese organizations are invited to the biggest international event of this season VALORANT Champions Tour: LOCK//IN, the two organizations being Edward Gaming, who made an appearance in Champions last season, and, FunPlus Phoenix, who placed among the top teams in Champions last season with their EMEA roster, however, FunPlus Phoenix left EMEA VALORANT and decided to promote their ACADEMY roster to the main team. Both teams revealed their rosters ahead of the international event in São Paulo, Brazil.

This supposed Chinese league could either be one of the VALORANT Champions Tour Leagues (VCT Americas, EMEA, Pacific) or one of the VALORANT Challengers Leagues. It is to be noted that the latter has a direct promotion to VALORANT Champions Tour Leagues via the Ascension League. It is still unclear if this Chinese League would be a part of the Pacific ecosystem or its own region.

The Chinese entertainment conglomerate, TENCENT, will reportedly host this league. Tencent operates the League of Legends Pro League in China, generating millions of dollars and featuring the biggest competition of esports.

VALORANT is also set to get its domestic launch in China as soon as this summer, followed with the announcement of this Chinese league, according to a report by Bloomberg.
