Riot to remove frustrating daily mission after community backlash

Daily missions are supposed to be a quick, fun way for Valorant fans to earn a little bit of bonus XP. They help you progress along your Contracts, and often you will complete them without even trying.

One of these missions though, has been rubbing players the wrong way. The challenge is to pick up a kill whilst one of your teammates is planting or defusing the spike.

The issue? Not only does this mainly come down to getting lucky with timings, but it forces people to make some pretty weird plays.

In order to complete this irksome daily, many gamers resort to endlessly queuing in the Spike Rush playlist, even if they’d rather be doing something else. And the reward for all this, a measly 4000 XP.

Thankfully, we won’t have to worry about this for much longer. Replying to a Reddit post complaining about the mission with nearly 2,000 upvotes, a Riot employee confirmed it will soon be gone.

“We hear you, this daily will be removed next patch. We had intended to remove the “Kill while ally” mission for this patch, but it snuck it’s way back into a cooked build and I apologize for that” explained u/RiotRectifyer.

They added that the replacement daily will be the “Plant/Defuse team mission”. Whilst it may have taken longer than some people would have liked, it’s good to know that the developers are paying attention to the community.
