In the latest from a series of communicative blog posts, Revenue Lead Joe “Swaggernau7” Lee gave some more insight into customisation in Valorant. This included details on Agent Contracts, VALORANT Points, Radianite Points and the Battle Pass.
As previously disclosed, the main form of customisation will be unique weapon skins. We’ve seen how successful this can be in CS:GO, and with Valorant also being an FPS it only makes sense. Whilst these skins may change a weapon’s model, animation, visual effects and audio, Riot want to make it very clear that they will never affect gameplay.
The easiest way to get your hands on a fresh skin is via the in-game store. VALORANT Points, or VP, can be purchased with real world currency, and then spent on items in the store. Gun and melee skins will rotate in two sections: Featured and Offers. Every two weeks the Featured section will update with new items, whilst the Offers section will change every 2-3 days.

It doesn’t stop there. Radianite Points will allow you to further evolve certain skins, unlocking new visual effects, audio, animations, unique finishers and variants. You will collect these points as you progress through the Battle Pass, but they can also be purchased in the store.
Another way of unlocking new content is via the completion of contracts. Players will each have two contract slots that they will work through simultaneously.
“Slot 1 will be filled with either an onboarding pass or an Agent Contract. New players get an onboarding pass of 10 tiers. Completing the onboarding pass unlocks any two Agents of your choice. Once the onboarding pass is completed, you’ll be able to equip an Agent contract and start earning Agent-specific rewards.”
“Slot 2 will always be filled with our battle pass, or as we like to all it our Story Contract. You’ll always make progress on this contract and earn rewards along the way.”
Lee didn’t give away too much about the Valorant Battle Pass. He simply clarified that it will be available at launch and that it will provide another way to unlock cosmetics by playing. Similar to other titles, the pass will feature both a free track for everyone as well as a paid option with additional rewards.
