North American players have been increasingly complaining about subprime North American Valorant servers for quite a while now. From server latency to frame hikes, players on lower tier systems and internet plans are the most susceptible
It seems as though Valorant is pushing out a server performance update tonight to address some of these concerns. As a result, however, players will not have access to ranked servers between 1:30 and 6:00AM Pacific Standard Time
Casual players should not be entirely affected by the ranked outage; if anything you'll get a bit of packet loss or increased latency here or there. If you can't handle the subprime performance - maybe it's better to skip out on the late night gaming sesh' all together
Some avid Valorant players are speculating a huge overhaul to the ranked system given how long the outage will be. If you're one of those people, I'm here to bring you down to earth
We're in the middle of a season with zero advance of any surface level changes to the competitive game modes. This leads me to believe that there isn't anything too glamorous going on - just some under the hood modifications to make everyone's games a little bit smoother
So if you were planning on looking like this guy at 5AM this morning - consider doing your body a favor and getting a healthy 8-10 hours of sleep... your body (and mind) will thank you!
