New Modern Warfare Multiplayer Map 'Village' is Not a Modern Warfare 3 Remake

Following the massive Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 3 leak from just under two weeks ago, Redditor /u/Senescallo has shared updated information regarding the new Multiplayer map - 'Village'. Originally thought to be a remake or remaster of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map, Village appears to be an entirely new map that's expected to release next Season.

With a quick glance at the newly leaked minimap of Village, it's easy to see that this map does not have any similarities to the Modern Warfare 3 map. The design of the map appears to be loosely based on the three lane layout which most players seem to prefer. However, it appears to be a medium to large sized map, despite the community's pleas for more small maps.

Aside from the loading screen and minimap, the only other leaked information we have regarding the new Village map is that it's set 14 km outside of Venskaya, Kastovia and will feature both the SAS and Spetsnaz teams.

As you can clearly see, Modern Warfare 3's Village is not comparable to Modern Warfare's, despite the reuse of the name. It's safe to say that fans will be pleased to hear that the map is not being remade, as it was a rather controversial map to begin with that likely wouldn't play well with the slower paced gameplay of the 2019 title.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 3 releases on Wednesday, April 8th at 10AM PT on all platforms. Infinity Ward has already released the first teaser image for the upcoming Season - but we're currently awaiting a roadmap and trailer.
