The Thermal AR has ruffled feathers in the past but now it’s going to be stronger than ever.
Tuesday’s v19.40 patch was the last update of Fortnite C3:S1. With just over two weeks to go until the new season, fans are looking ahead at what may be coming.
Dataminers have already suggested that the theme for Season 2 could be a war between the Imagined Order and The Seven. Aside from map changes and potential events, this also likely means a whole arsenal of new items and weapons.
According to @HYPEX, one such gun will be a Mythic Thermal AR. He leaked this a while back but now has fresh information on both the Mythic and standard versions of the Assault Rifle.
The Mythic Thermal AR i leaked a month ago is still coming, for Season 2.. The normal Thermal ARs have been buffed to become fully automatic, the Mythic one too 👀🔥

Mythic Stats:
- 39 Body/Builds Damage & 78 Headshot
- Clip Size: 15, Reload Time 2s & Fire Rate: 1.8 (70 DPS) pic.twitter.com/Zo6GktwM9n
Unlike previous variations of the Thermal AR, this upgraded tech is fully automatic. The Mythic will also boast a higher fire rate than its lower rarity counterparts.
Mythic Thermal AR stats
Damage to Players: 39 with 2x headshot multiplier
Damage to Builds: 39
Clip Size: 15
Reload Time: 2s
We will have to wait and see how strong this Mythic is. People had mixed opinions on the Thermal AR in the past, it does good damage at range but cannot really be used as a spray weapon so is less versatile than other assault rifles. It could potentially be great for picking up Storm Surge tags in competitive.
Hypex also mentioned that the LMG may make a return next season too. Another controversial weapon, this time because it was considered overpowered by many, owing to its huge magazine size.
The LMG might also return next season, it was both buffed & nerfed yesterday. It's now more accurate, the reload time is 3 seconds instead of 5 but the magazine size has been reduced from 100 to 60! pic.twitter.com/HXGX56VXTT

However, recent changes could have made the LMG more balanced. Its accuracy and reload speed have been buffed, while the magazine size has been almost cut in half and fire rate reduced.
Considering the pace at which Epic has been putting out new content throughout Season 1, there’s sure to be plenty of original loot added as well as the revamped classics. Whatever you’re hoping for, we won’t have to wait long to find out!
