Power Rankings Launch June 5
Epic is launching Fortnite Power Rankings on June 5, giving Competitive players a new universal skill rating across Battle Royale and Reload.
Power Rankings will:
- Update weekly
- Use a player’s 20 best Battle Royale and Reload tournament results
- Include seasonal Ranked tier in both Battle Royale and Reload
- Factor in recent results, event difficulty, and strength of opponents
- Let players track their global standing, share their rank, and follow other players
Initial Power Rankings will use each player’s Battle Royale and Reload tournament results from the past two years. Players with fewer than 20 events will enter an Initial Rating Period, where their PR adjusts as they compete more.
There is also no ratings risk: strong results can boost your PR and replace a Top 20 result, while weaker tournaments will not directly lower it. Tougher events like FNCS and strong performances against higher-rated players can give a bigger boost.
Power Rankings will also decay over time to keep the leaderboard current:
- 0–180 days: Tournament results keep 100% value
- 180–720 days: Results slowly lose value
- 720+ days: Results no longer count toward Power Ranking
- Ranked resets: Seasonal Ranked resets may temporarily reduce PR as players climb back up

Ranked Updates
Fortnite Ranked is getting some of the biggest changes heading into Season 3.
New Ranked Reward: Axe of Unreal
Players who reach Unreal for the first time next season will unlock the Axe of Unreal. The reward is progressive, so players can unlock new tiers by reaching Unreal in future seasons. Battle Royale and Reload will each have their own Axe of Unreal.

New Rank: Unreal Legends
Epic is adding Unreal Legends, a new Ranked tier for top players.
- To earn Unreal Legend, players must:
- Reach Unreal Rank
- Hold at least 2,500 Skill Rating
- Place in the Top 500 on the Unreal Leaderboard
Players will lose Unreal Legend status if they drop below any of those requirements.

Ranked Skill Rating Improvements
When Ranks reset, players will now keep their Skill Rating. This should help matchmaking place players against others at a similar skill level.
New In-Match Progress Visuals
Season 3 will add clearer post-match Ranked progress details. Players will be able to see how eliminations and placement impacted their Rank.
Tournament Eligibility Changes
Later this year, eligibility will look at both current Rank and previous season’s Rank.
Chapter 7 Season 3 Competitive Events
Chapter 7 Season 3 will also include several other tournaments:
- FNCS Divisional Cups
- Reload Elite Series Qualifier 4
- Solo Victory Cups
- Performance Evaluation Cups starting June 7
- FNCS Community Cup on July 31
- More Zero Build tournaments
- PlayStation Cups
- Ranked Cups
- Mobile Series returning June 12
FNCS Schedule Changes
The 2026 Fortnite Global Championship has been moved up to September 26–27 in Antwerp, Belgium. Epic says the new date better aligns with the next Battle Royale Season arriving near the end of the summer.
FNCS updates include:
- FNCS Major 2
- Starts: July 18
- Finals: August 1–2
- Top 25 Duos qualify for the Global Championship
- FNCS Global Championship Last Chance
- Replaces FNCS Major 3
- Starts: August 3
- Qualifies the final 10 Duos for Globals
- FNCS Solos Tournament
- Coming after Globals in October 2026
- Standalone online tournament
- Players will compete for regional Battle Royale crowns
