Arthur "Yumi" Mijares is a 17 years old American Fortnite player who currently represents PSG TNA. Yumi, together with Kewl, will compete at the FNCS Invitational 2022. Today I will tell you about his career, and afterwards, we will ask Arthur some questions to get to know him better!

Yumi's playing career began back in 2020. His first decent results were in the FNCS solo Chapter 2, Season 3. Over time, he continued bringing more important results in each competition. At the FNCS Grand Royale 2021, Yumi placed in the top 8. The hype around the guy is growing, and it will be interesting to see how things will December with the arrival of the duo.

At the beginning of Chapter 3, Season 3, Yumi starts playing a duo with a player named Kewl. From that moment on, a crucial growth path for both careers begins. In the first two duo tournaments they played together, they placed in the top 4 and top 6. On 10 July 2022, they played the FNCS Chapter 3 Season 3 qualifier. They managed to win and qualify in the first week.
On 14 August 2022, they will win the FNCS Grand Finals in North America West, securing a spot for the FNCS Invitational in November.

This victory did not make them remain anonymous. On the contrary, they ended up in the spotlight, and everyone started talking about these two guys who amazed them! Not surprisingly, on 20 September 2022, Yumi and Kewl announced their entrance in PSG TNA.

Now that I have told you Arthur's story, we will ask him some questions!
How did you feel winning the FNCS Chapter 3 Season 3? What were the first things you did? How much is this helping you to continue in your career?
"After winning grands, I felt accomplished and relieved because of all the hard work I put into that season. The best part was to see it pay off. The first thing I did was to speak with my parents, and I told them how I qualified for the invitational. They were super excited that I got to experience this kind of stuff from a video game. Then a few friends came over, and we went to party at Dennys. This win has helped me sign with one of the best organizations in Fortnite, which is a huge confidence boost for future tournaments."
What was it like signing with PSG TNA? Did you expect an offer like that? How did your parents react?
"Signing with TNA was probably one of the best accomplishments that have come from Fortnite. Even though we won Grands, I did not expect an offer from TNA PSG. I still don't believe that they were looking into us. My parents are still a little confused about the entire thing, but they are super proud that I am doing so good and glad I am having fun doing it."
How do you feel about the FNCS Invitational in a few weeks? How are you preparing? What expectations do you have?
"I'm super excited to meet the best players from around the world in real life. I'm still grinding and working very hard, and we placed 3rd in the elite cup finals yesterday after finding our mistakes and fixing them. Considering we are contested off spawn, it has a factor in our performance. My goal is to place in the top 15 in the first big lan since the World Cup. The experience itself is already a nice prize!"
I had the chance to have a few words with Jacob 'Japple' Applebaum, the General Manager of Team New Age.
How and why did PSG TNA sign Yumi?
"I was actually in talks with Yumi and Kewl’s manager a few weeks before they won FNCS. They had a dominant performance in Week 1 of the qualifiers, which caught my attention. I even DM’d their manager before Grands, saying that I’m really confident they will win FNCS, and I want them on PSG TNA. TNA has already won multiple championships in the NAE and OCE regions, so NAW was the next region I wanted to conquer. Additionally, I knew that the top NAW duos this season would get invited to the International LAN invite, so Yumi and Kewl seemed like a perfect duo. Unfortunately, signing players is a long process, and I couldn’t get them on the team before the FNCS finals, so they won as free agents. But we officially announced them shortly after their victory and are excited to have them represent us at LAN"
What are your thoughts on Yumi and plans moving forward?
"Yumi is an incredibly talented player, and I’m super excited to have him in PSG TNA! He’s been very professional with us so far, which is great, and we will continue to help build his personal brand and give him recognition on our socials. This upcoming International LAN is obviously a huge deal, and we plan to involve him in various types of content, including vlogs, skits, and professional photos. Very much looking forward to seeing him and Kewl dominate the competition on the big stage"
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the environment surrounding Arthur is super positive. They work hard and have much desire to grow. We wish yumi good luck ahead of the FNCS Invitational. We would like to thank Arthur and Jacob for taking some time to speak with us. Be sure to follow them and PSG TNA on every social!
