Leaks suggest Fortnite x Uncharted collab: Treasure Map item, New skins & more

The famous adventurers from best-selling video game franchise “Uncharted” could be making their way into Fortnite.

The famous adventurers from best-selling video game franchise “Uncharted” could be making their way into Fortnite.

Crossovers with giants from the worlds of music, film, sport and culture have become a staple within Fortnite. This season alone we’ve already had Spider-Man, The Matrix and Cobra Kai leave their marks upon the Island, among others.

These partnerships can come in the form of Outfits and cosmetics, special events, or even in-game items and locations. Now it looks like another major collaboration will be arriving before the end of the month.

Following Tuesday’s v19.20 patch, leakers reported an interesting upcoming challenge that had appeared in the game files. According to @HYPEX, the mission asks you to “Collect treasure using an Uncharted Treasure Map”.

The challenge is set to go live in Week 11 of Chapter 3 Season 1, on February 17. This is the day before the new Uncharted movie, based on the popular videogame series, releases in the U.S.

So, what can we expect?

Treasure

As mentioned in the challenge above, an Uncharted Treasure Map will be added. It will probably work very similarly to the often-forgotten Buried Treasure item from Chapter 1, with the map leading you to a specific location on the Island where you can dig up your treasure.

Hypex revealed that when opened, these Treasure Chests will drop 4 Legendary weapons, 4 good heals, 270 total materials, and 100 gold. That’s quite the prize!

Skins

These collabs tend to include themed Outfits and the Uncharted one will likely be no exception. Also discovered in the game files was a gold Item Shop background, which @ShiinaBR says will be used for “two currently encrypted collab skins”.

It would make sense for Fortnite x Uncharted to feature two Outfits, representing the film’s two main characters, Nathan Drake and Sully. They may well opt for a look closer to the games than the movie actors, given that Drake is played by Tom Holland, who’s face already appears in Fortnite as an additional style for the Spider-Man (No Way Home) skin.
