Is the Fortnite Chapter 3 Tilted Towers update delayed?

The wait for Tilted Towers could be longer than we first thought.

To this day, Tilted Towers is arguably Fortnite’s most famous POI. After being destroyed by a volcanic eruption in Chapter 1 Season 8, it has made brief cameos under multiple disguises, from the futuristic Neo Tilted, to the primal era Boney Burbs.

Though these reworks offer a nice hit of nostalgia to long-time players, many fans have been desperate for Tilted to return in all its former glory. Enter Chapter 3…

On the first day of the new season, eagle-eyed explorers noticed the tops of some iconic Tilted Towers buildings frozen in ice towards the middle of the map. Leakers prophesized that the snow covering the Island would slowly begin to melt, eventually revealing this popular location.

Dataminers slated the date of Tilted’s full to be Tuesday, January 18. Not only does this coincide with the launch of Fortnite patch 19.10, but also marks Tilted Towers’ 4^th birthday.

However, leaker @HYPEX recently confirmed that the next stage of snow melting isn’t set to go live until the 19^th. “Concerning because Epic never enables a POI mid-week & Tilted’s birthday is on the 18^th… so they’re most likely planning to leave the ice blocks there for another week”, he explained.

Of course only time will tell, but it sounds as though we could be waiting a bit longer than expected. Additionally, there is the possibility that Tilted takes weeks more to completely emerge from the ice and snow, like we saw with Greasy Grove back in Chapter 1.

With the current season scheduled to end mid-March, players will be hoping to get a good chance to relive Tilted before it potentially changes again. Who knows though? It could become a central part of the storyline and stick around for months or even years.

With or without Tilted, there’s still a whole lot of content rumoured to be coming in the 19.10 update. The IO’s Covert Canyon POI, the humungous, rideable, dinosaurs spotted in the gameplay trailer, and the unvaulting of Grenade Launchers are all predicted to feature.
