How to get Fortnite’s new Icy Grappler + Regular Grappler unvaulted

Skate around the Fortnite Island in style with the new Icy Grappler!

Epic has been spoiling us with content lately and though Fortnitemares 2021 may be over, it looks like that’s not going to change. Even when it’s not a full update week, we can expect something new and exciting to keep gameplay feeling fresh.

Having been leaked in recent patches, Tuesday’s v18.30 hotfix sees the release of the Icy Grappler. We’ve got all the important details for you here:

Icy Grappler

The Icy Grappler is an Exotic rarity item, currently priced at 400 Gold. You can purchase it from the Fabio Sparklemane NPC inside the nightclub on the mountain behind Misty Meadows.

It functions similarly to a normal Grappler, in that you shoot its suction cup to propel yourself towards a solid surface. The only difference is, when you land, your frozen feet will send you quickly sliding in the same direction.

Thanks to its infinite uses, this makes the Icy Grappler ideal for speedy rotations, especially when going downhill! Be warned though, you will take fall damage if you drop from too great a height.

Other Changes

If you don’t have the funds to be buying Exotics every match there’s no need to worry. The standard Grappler has also been unvaulted and can be found in both Chests and Supply Drops.
