Fortnite’s v40.10 update, released on April 1, 2026, delivers a mix of nostalgia and chaos, bringing back OG Chapter 1 Season 8 alongside a limited-time April Fools event packed with wild gameplay changes.
OG Season 8 is Back

Epic Games has officially launched OG Season 8, bringing players back to one of Fortnite’s most iconic eras.
OG Season 8 is set to end on June 17th 2026.
- The season features the pirate-themed island, complete with the Volcano, Lazy Lagoon, and Sunny Steps
- Classic skins like Blackheart (lava remix), Hybrid (new variant), and Luke (remixed), are part of the nostalgia wave
- Returning Weapons & Items: Flint-Knock Pistol, Heavy Assault Rifle & Infantry Rifle, Boom Bow, Impulse Grenades & Shadow Bombs, and Poison Dart Traps
- Mechanics & Vehicles: Pirate Cannons, Treasure Maps, and Ballers (not at launch)
April Fools Event (24 Hours Only)

Key Features:
- Big Heads Mode: Oversized player heads for comedic gameplay
- Finger Guns: Players can “shoot” using finger guns
- Shoulder Riding: Stack teammates infinitely
- Llama Riding: Rideable llamas appear across the island
- No Fall Damage: Replaced with a cartoon splat effect
These additions are designed purely for fun and are active in unranked modes, reinforcing the event’s chaotic, non-competitive nature.
Competitive & Gameplay Updates
- Chaos Reloader Shotgun
-Body shot damage has been slightly reduced
-Reload speed is now consistent across all rarities
-Mythic damage now matches Legendary rarity - Twin Mag SMG
-You’ll now see less spread while firing, jumping, sprinting and sliding
-Spread has been slightly increased while crouching
