Fortnite v19.40 update: Spider-Man Week, leaked skins + No end of season event confirmed?

We may be diving straight into the new Fortnite season without one of Epic’s famous in-game events.

The Fortnite v19.40 patch is live and this is the last one of the season. With FNCS Semis wrapped up and all fifty duos in each region locked in for Finals, the changes have once again been kept to a minimum.

There is however a new themed week to enjoy and plenty of leaked cosmetics. Datamining has been less fruitful in other areas, leaving some fans concerned about the season finale, or lack thereof.

Amazing Web Week

Say goodbye to the C2:S6 Primal Bows as they head back into the Fortnite vault and prepare instead to be more mobile than ever. This latest Wild Week sees Spider-Man’s Mythic Web Shooters added to Chest loot to make them even easier to get hold of.

Additionally, Bouncers return, though many wish that this popular trap item would stick around for longer than a week. They can be found both in Supply Drops and on the floor.

Complete a series of special Amazing Web Week Quests to score some bonus XP. Amazing Web Week will conclude at 9AM ET March 8, when yet another themed week will take its place.

No Event?

Leaker @HYPEX has confirmed that there were no event files found in today’s update. With this being the final patch before Chapter 3 Season 2, it looks a lot like we may not get a live event this season.

This will leave some people very disappointed. A lot of players assumed that the condensed FNCS format was implemented to leave room for something big at the end of the season, and the IO drilling seemed to be building towards it too (though this will still have an impact on the theme of next season).

New Clipping System

Epic appears to be working on a new in-game clipping feature. According to @iFireMonkey, this will work in tandem with the an app called Postparty, developed by the team behind Houseparty.

It will be activated via the Fortnite menu and will capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay. The previous Houseparty video chat integration didn’t seem to gain too much traction, so it will be interesting to see how this one goes.

Cosmetics

A number of upcoming skins and accessories have been leaked in v19.40. The “LetherJacket” Bundle with new Leelah and Halley Outfits has got the best reaction.
