Fortnite Ones To Watch: C3:S1 FNCS Predictions, NA East

The Chapter 3 Season 1 FNCS is finally here. Whether you’re playing, spectating, or doing a bit of both, it’s time to get hyped!

The Chapter 3 Season 1 FNCS is finally here. Whether you’re playing, spectating, or doing a bit of both, it’s time to get hyped!

Qualifiers begin today, and everyone will need to get off to a running start considering the new condensed format. Almost unbelievably, the competition will be fully wrapped up in a little over two weeks.

Yesterday I shared my three favourite Duos in Europe and left out some huge names, having whittled it down from a list of about fifteen teams that could easily win the whole thing. Now it’s the turn of NA East, and honestly I think it’s a lot more clear cut here.

FaZe Cented & 33 cold – A Legacy Waiting to be Written

Though many questioned Cented’s choice to partner with a relatively under the radar player at the beginning of the season, Cold has quickly proved exactly why he belongs on a top tier duo. In fact, after the pair set a points record in last night’s Cash Cup, Cold is on a staggering four-event win streak.

True, Cold doesn’t have an extensive Finals resume, but in Chapter 2 Season 8 he placed 6th in FNCS and 5th in the Grand Royale. Meanwhile, Cented is one of the most consistent pros in Fortnite history. There have been nine FNCS’s total, and he’s been top five in seven of them.

Cented and Cold constantly gas each other up in-game and on socials, and we all know how important good vibes are in Duos. I truly believe that Cented is more motivated to become an FNCS Champion than anyone else in the world, with a new meta and a new teammate, this feels like the perfect time to do it.

Acorn & KNG Khanada – Sometimes, Aggression is the Answer

Acorn and Khanada each began the season in good form with different partners. However, hungry for even more success, they came together during the big NA “snakening”, and it certainly seems to have paid off.

These are two highly reliable players who both excel in Duos. Acorn already has an FNCS title under his belt, and Khanada is a permanent fixture in Grand Finals, with placements including 3rd, 4thand 7th in the last year.

Since joining forces in January, Acorn and Khanada have won the Duos Cash Cup once and finished third twice. As long as they don’t have any trouble qualifying from Tilted, they are destined to pop off this season.

SEN Bugha & TNA Mero – It’s in their Blood

My first two picks for NAE were super easy to come to, but this one required a bit more deliberation. I was going to give the third spot to an underrated team with great results, however I just can’t ignore the star quality of Bugha and Mero.

These guys turn up when it matters. They dominated C2:S8 together, coming up trumps in both the FNCS and Grand Royale. Excluding these recent triumphs, Mero has two more FNCS wins to his name, and I keep seeing pictures of Bugha from a few years ago with this massive trophy… not sure what that’s about.

It’s not like they’ve been slacking in Chapter 3 either. Bugha and Mero won their first Duo Cash Cup together and placed 6ththe following week. Plus, Mero has been on a tear in Solos and let’s face it, in this meta it doesn’t hurt to have arguably the best controller player in the world on your side.
