Fortnite is back on the App Store, Epic Rewards boosted to 20%, and more!

Fortnite Returns on the iOS App Store

On April 30, 2025, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, confirmed that Fortnite Mobile will be available again for U.S. iPhone users. The announcement came shortly after Apple updated its App Store rules to comply with legal rulings, now allowing external links and alternate payment methods inside apps — the very policy that sparked the Epic vs. Apple war in 2020.

A May 1 update to Apple’s App Store terms now permits developers to encourage users to use alternative payment systems, not just Apple’s in-app purchases (which was the reason Fortnite was removed originally).

Epic confirmed the news with a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

• Fortnite returns to the iOS App Store in the U.S. next week (exact date of Apple approval, but likely between May 10–15)
• iPhone and iPad users will be able to download it directly again
• Expect full crossplay with console and PC, plus immediate access to all Battle Royale and Creative content

Epic is rewarding all players with 20% Epic Rewards

When Fortnite relaunches, players will be able to choose between Apple’s standard in-app purchase system or Epic’s direct payment method. Choosing Epic’s system will grant players 20% back in Epic Rewards — a new benefit now live across all platforms.

This reward also applies to real-money bundles and special offers. Players can spend earned rewards in Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, or on any game available through the Epic Games Store when using Epic’s payment system.
