Nolan North Departs Role in Black Ops Cold War Zombies

In his debut on the TikTok social media platform, Nolan North, the Voice Actor most known for his roles as Edward Richtofen in Call of Duty Zombies, Nathan Drake in Uncharted, and more, has delivered a worrying message for fans of his role as the ignoble German Doctor. Edward Richtofen will not be returning in the capacity that many fans were hopeful for, if at all.

Following several rumors of a rebooted Aether storyline focused on the rather unexplored Dark Aether that was established in previous installments, Nolan North has confirmed that he will not be voicing Edward Richtofen in the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This leaves fans asking if a re-cast, similar to that seen with Frank Woods, has occurred.

Hey it's Nolan North here - finally made it to TikTok. I want to talk to all the fans of Doctor Edward Richtofen; He's certainly one of my favorites and he was always a crowd pleaser, wasn't he...? But he's not in the next Call of Duty! Nein, he is not - and I am not happy.

I blame Dempsey, I hate you Dempsey! I hate you with the passion of a thousand suns... I guess it's stabby time, yeah?

Following the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies, the primary cast of the Aether storyline was last seen in an appalling situation which many fans have accepted as the end of the story while others were understandably upset for various reasons; Because of this, it's expected that Black Ops Cold War Zombies will begin anew storyline.

It's also possible that, similar to what we've seen with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the Aether storyline may be rebooted, taking it in a new direction. In the first official Zombies teaser seen at the end of the Multiplayer Reveal Trailer, a new cast of characters can be seen - along with Grigori Weaver, a character who previously existed in the Black Ops Campaign universe.

At the time of writing, the Pawn Takes Pawn ARG is once again in motion. Many fans believe that this is the start of a journey which will lead to the full reveal of Black Ops Cold War Zombies. However, it's important to note that Zombies is historically the last reveal to be made, and we have yet to see a reveal of Treyarch's iteration of Warzone. We'll keep you updated.
