Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies casts players into Die Maschine, an abandoned Nazi facility set in Morasko, Poland, with the ever-growing threat of an undead horde. To aid players in their survival, the Decompressive Isotropic Estrangement Machine (D.I.E. Machine) can be obtained through a series of quests.
The base variant of the D.I.E., the Shockwave is rewarded at random via the Mystery Box or by completing a quest which guarantees it for free.
Free D.I.E. Shockwave
Prerequisites
Each of the following requirements must be met prior to beginning the free D.I.E. Shockwave quest.
- Turn on the Power.
- Reforge the Machine.
Obtain the D.I.E. Remote Control
Progress through the rounds until a Megaton enemy spawns, then deal damage to it until it splits into the Megaton Blaster and Bomber enemies. Upon killing both halves of the Megaton, the Keycard can be collected from its corpse.
Navigate to the Weapons Lab and interact with the Weapons Locker to insert the Keycard and reveal the D.I.E. Remote Control.
Overload the D.I.E.
A broken concrete wall can be found within the "Living Room", standing near this wall will reveal a prompt which allows the player to remotely turn on the D.I.E. Gather a horde of ~30 Zombies, then turn on the D.I.E. and allow it to absorb the Zombies.
Discharge the D.I.E.
Once enough Zombies have been absorbed, the prompt will now allow the D.I.E. to be discharged. This will reveal a D.I.E. Shockwave which can be collected from the skeleton's hands.
