Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies casts players into Die Maschine, an abandoned Nazi facility set in Morasko, Poland, with the ever-growing threat of an undead horde. To aid players in their survival, the D.I.E. Shockwave wonder weapon and four unique variants can be obtained through a series of quests.
The four D.I.E. Shockwave Upgrades are as follows:
- D.I.E. Nova-5 (Gas)
- D.I.E. Cryo-Emitter (Ice)
- D.I.E. Electrobolt (Electric)
- D.I.E. Thermophasic (Fire)
Prerequisites
Each of the following requirements must be met prior to various stages of the D.I.E. Machine Upgrade quests in order to progress. Keep this in mind and fulfill these requirements alongside the Upgrades.
- Turn on the Power.
- Reforge the Machine.
- Create the Aetherscope.
- Reveal the Spectral Reflections.
- Obtain the D.I.E Shockwave.
D.I.E. Nova-5
Obtain the Empty Canister
Navigate to the "Mezzanine" and locate the Empty Canister found just outside of the playable bounds. Using the alternate fire mode of the D.I.E. Shockwave, pull the Empty Canister into the playable area.
The Empty Canister can be collected from the floor within the playable area.
Obtain the Plaguehound Gas
Navigate to the Weapons Lab and interact with the Cleaning Unit to install the Empty Canister. Proceed through the rounds until a Plaguehound spawns, then kill it near the Cleaning Unit to fill the Canister.
The Plaguehound Gas can now be collected from the Cleaning Unit.
Place the Plaguehound Canister
Navigate to the Crash Site and interact with the Weapon Crate to place the Plaguehound Canister. Next, melee the Plaguehound Canister to release the gas and unlock the Weapon Crate.
The D.I.E. Nova-5 can now be obtained at this Weapon Crate.
D.I.E. Cryo-Emitter
Obtain the Empty Flask
Navigate to the "Penthouse" and locate the wooden crate on the ledge of the building. Using the primary fire mode of the D.I.E. Shockwave, shoot the crate to knock it down.
The Empty Flask can be collected from the ground in the Pond.
Obtain the Filled Flask
Progress through the rounds until a Megaton spawns. Then, allow the Megaton to fire its ranged attack at you while standing near the tree with the Mutated Fungus. If done correctly, the Mutated Fungus will turn purple.
Interact with the Mutated Fungus to place the Empty Flask and collect the cryogenic liquid. Wait roughly 60 seconds or until the Empty Flask becomes filled.
The Filled Flask can be collected from the ground near the tree.
Pour Out the Cryogenic Liquid
Navigate to the Medical Bay and interact with the Weapon Crate to pour out the cryogenic liquid and unlock the Weapon Crate.
The D.I.E. Cryo-Emitter can now be obtained at this Weapon Crate.
D.I.E. Electrobolt
Collect the Electricity
To collect the electricity, you must enter the Dark Aether via the Anomaly found in the lower portion of the Particle Accelerator.
Locate each of the three following crystals found around the map. Using the alternate fire mode of the D.I.E. Shockwave, collect the energy from each crystal, one at a time, then dispense it into the Weapon Crate in the Particle Accelerator using the primary fire mode of the D.I.E. Shockwave.
- Crash Site: Ledge left of Juggernog
- "Penthouse": Ledge right of Wunderfizz
- Pond: Ledge right of Mystery Box
The D.I.E. Electrobolt can now be obtained at this Weapon Crate.
D.I.E. Thermophasic
Obtain the Fuse
To obtain the Fuse, you must enter the Dark Aether via the Anomaly found in the Pond.
Navigate to the Crash Site and melee the box found on the ground near the Aether Tunnel to open it and reveal the Fuse.
The Fuse can be collected from this box.
Place the Fuse
Navigate to the Weapons Lab and interact with the Plasma Cutter to place the Fuse and unlock the Weapon Crate.
The D.I.E. Thermophasic can be be obtained at the Weapon Crate in Pond.
