7 Best Ultimate Abilities in Valorant

Wanna know which agents have the best ultimate abilities in Valorant?

Valorant presently features a roster of 22 agents, with each boasting distinct abilities. Paired with precise aim, using these abilities at the perfect moment can mean the difference between winning and losing the round.

Among these abilities include the Ultimate ability. Ultimate abilities in Valorant are abilities you cannot purchase with creds. Gaining access to your ultimate though may take a while but it surely is worth it. This is because ultimate abilities are most of the time, the strongest part in their kit. So strong that they can be the trump card that can tip the scales in your favor or snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. However, it is not a secret that some ultimate abilities are just stronger than others.

Now, if you're curious about which agents have the best abilities in the game in terms of its overall impact and versatility, you are in the right place. Listed down below are 7 ultimates that are considered to be the best and superior among all, along with the reasons they've earned their spot on this list.

Who has the best ultimate ability in Valorant

Brimstone - Orbital Strike

Kicking off our list of the best ultimate abilities in Valorant is Brimstone's Orbital Strike.

Whether you're entering, defending, retaking a site, or during post-plant situations, you can never go wrong with Brimstone’s Orbital Strike—unless you miss it on purpose.

This agent's ultimate ability allows him to unleash a laser-powered orbital strike that spells doom for anyone caught inside it. If not, it will certainly cause them to suffer severe damage before they can get out of its reach.

When placed strategically or used in conjunction with other abilities, such as Rolling Thunder, you can secure multiple kills with a single ultimate, or at the very least, force opponents out of their positions.

Orbital Strike is also the perfect tool to secure rounds in post-plant situations, as it eliminates that hopeless opponent attempting to defuse the spike.

Besides its lethality, this ultimate is also capable of destroying utilities like Killjoy’s ultimate.

Sage - Resurrection

Sage’s ability to resurrect a dead ally propels her into the ranks of agents with the best ultimates in the game.

This is practically the reason as to why Sage players are often tasked to plant the spike. This is because, with an ultimate online, the round can simply become a 5v6 situation, provided that Sage does not die first.

Viper - Viper's Pit

Viper without a doubt has one of the strongest ultimates in Valorant for plenty of reasons.

Besides her ability to deploy a massive smoke that covers almost the whole site, Viper’s Pit poses a massive threat to anyone who will dare to enter, turning it into a no-go zone.

Viper players can simply cast the ultimate to thwart attackers from entering the site, securing a retake and safely defuse the spike under a large smoke, or just to hold the site.

Aside from getting their vision reduced, this ultimate puts a massive disadvantage to enemies who will try to stay inside, as it gradually decreases their HP to 1. The longer they stay, the higher chance of getting killed. With this, you can play around the smoke, make some ratty plays, walk in and out so that you won't be detected. The harder you are to find, the lower their HP  is going to be, when inside, making it much easier to kill them through your gun or a mere snakebite.

Also, if you're a fan of shotguns, this can be the perfect way to get some crazy clip.

Phoenix - Run it Back

Although Phoenix might not be as powerful as the other agents at this moment, he undeniably holds one of the top-tier ultimates in Valorant.

He is one of the five duelist, with self-sufficient abilities including a molly and a wall that heals him, and a flash giving him an edge in one-on-one battles.

His ultimate, however, might not instantly eliminate multiple foes with a single click of a button, but it's certainly worth grabbing the orb for.

Run it back allows you to use another life gaining access to freedom to do basically anything without the fear of losing or dying. This puts a lot of pressure to your opponents as they will either have to hide, giving away that space or risk fighting the ulted Phoenix head-on.

With Phoenix’ ultimate, you can have a low risk high reward move that you can use when entering, retaking or fighting against opponents. Whether you win or lose that duel, the information you've gathered while using your ultimate can still be crucial.

But what makes this ultimate much stronger is his ability to spam it throughout the whole game. Run it back only requires six points. With enough kills and orbs, he can actually use his ultimate more than three times per half which can be very impactful.

Yoru - Dimensional Drift

Much like Phoenix, Yoru might not be among the strongest or most popular agents in the game at the moment, but it's clear that he has a fantastic ultimate when utilized effectively.

Yoru can put on his mask upon casting Dimensional Drift. When Yoru activates it, he will put on his mask, rendering himself untargetable, invincible, and invisible for the duration.

Although he can't put out his weapon during this ultimate, he can effectively scout areas for easier entries or retakes while remaining unseen. With this, both you and your allies can benefit from it and will know which areas to focus on. Dimensional Drift is also a good repositioning tool, which you can use to safely get out of unfavorable position. On top of it, Yoru can even make solo plays as he can now use the rest of abilities to confuse, and blind them before getting out of Dimensional Drift for a finishing kill.

Killjoy - Lockdown

Killjoy may have been nerfed multiple times, but her ultimate still remains as one of the strongest.

Lockdown is an ability that can cover almost the entire site, leaving opponents deciding whether they choose to be detained or get out of it. Hence, your team can either get an easy punish or make sure that the site is clear and give up their position.

Lockdown may be easy to destroy, but to break it, opponents will have to use their abilities like Brimstone's Orbital Strike or Sova's Hunter Fury. But without these abilities, they'll be left with zero choice but to leave the site and wait for retake. If not, they can choose to destroy it themselves, which can be pretty risky for them especially if there's at least two person guarding the Lockdown.

KAY/O - Null/CMD

When KAY/O says you are powerless, you will be. We do know how strong ultimate abilities in Valorant are, especially the ones mentioned in this list. However, these are all nothing when Kayo’s ultimate is up.

Ever tried to use a Chamber, Raze, Neon or a Jett ult only to be suppressed by Kayo? Yeah, we get the feeling.

Null/cmd emits a pulse around him that has a pretty wide range, and enemies within the area will be suppressed and will not be able to use their abilities for the duration. With this, taking or retaking space will only be a piece of cake, especially when dealing with Sentinel’s setups. On top of it, Kay/o also gains combat stim and can get another chance to life once an ally is able to revive him.
