We’ve seen a number of popular pairings in Fortnite over the years. From competitive legends like Zayt and Saf, to controller demons Nickmercs and Aydan, these Duos have given us countless hours of entertainment.
Though went it comes to straight up energy and vibes, perhaps none come close to Mongraal and Mitr0! The two started playing together shortly before World Cup qualifiers begun, and went on to place sixth at the Finals in New York.
Famous for their relentless aggression and ear-splitting comms, these guys quickly became a fan favorites. Wearing the iconic Dynamo skin combo, they ran through lobbies filled with some of Europe’s biggest stars.
Post World Cup, Mongraal and Mitr0 teamed up with Benjyfishy for the first ever FNCS tournament. They won three of the five qualifiers, and finished second in the other two. In Grand Finals however, they clocked in at a disappointing tenth place.
There is no bad blood, no hate between anyone at all. We all felt this was right for us and trust me, I wouldn't leave mitr0 in a bad position - he will have a god squad.

They then parted ways to try out with other people, but throughout the first half of Chapter 2, both players clearly started to lose interest in Fortnite. To the surprise of many, Mongraal and Mitr0 then reunited in Chapter 2 Season 4, and won the FNCS title, despite an apparent lack of motivation.
This is where things really started to go downhill. They each took extended breaks from the game and stopped putting in the hours necessary to compete at the highest level. From claiming that Pickaxe of Champions until now, together or apart, Mongraal and Mitr0 have struggled to make it to into FNCS Grand Finals, let alone place well.
The Revival
Out of the blue, the pair joined forces once more to play in Monday’s Duo Cash Cup. They battled hard but with two matches remaining, they needed a couple of huge performances to push into the top 50 and qualify for Round 2… And that’s just what they did!
Following a 23 elimination sixth place in their penultimate game, they ended the day with an 18 kill Victory Royale. This was enough to land them at 36th place on the leaderboards.

Mongraals Twitch stream peaked at 43,000 viewers during the epic cup run, and the community has been loving rewatching the insane low-health clutch they pulled off in that final match. Old school competitive Fortnite hype.
As exciting as this all is, it’s important not to get too far ahead of ourselves. Mongraal and Mitr0 qualified for Round 2 using sheer brute force, which is not likely to work out in a set lobby full of pros.
We will have to wait and see how they do on Wednesday. Regardless, they’ve shown that they still have the mechanics to keep up with the best, and if they commit to scrimming and practicing a more strategic playstyle, they have every chance of popping off in Duos throughout 2022.
