Where to get the Diablo IV mount quest?

Fast track your way to this friendly mode of transport.

Unlike previous Diablo games, Diablo IV's map is one of the most expansive and explorative of the entire franchise. While the series has always been about dungeon-crawling and fighting legions of monsters, this version of Sanctuary has less of an Act-by-Act feel and is more of an open world. Because of that, it can be a hassle to get around without a horse. So, if you're hunting for easy transport, let's break down finally getting a mount in Diablo IV.

How do you get a mount in Diablo IV?

At the top of Act IV, Donan offers the famous, sought-after mount quest. It's technically a side quest and not part of the main story, but the game makes it easy to accomplish quickly after getting it. After all, the whole mission starts and ends in Kyovashad.

To find this quest, reach the end of Act III. Then, you'll meet back up with Donan in Kyovashad at the Cathedral of Light. He'll tell you about his friend, the stablehand, and hook you up with your first horse. In one kind recommendation, Donan will make all your transportation needs so much easier.

However, you likely will be level 30+ when you get to this mission, so you'll have to be patient to get your first horse.

How do you get more mounts in Diablo IV?

In base-game Diablo IV, you'll start with one horse, Old Nell. You can buy more mount options from the stable-owner for 20,000 gold each. If you pre-ordered the game and bought a certain level of game (Digital Deluxe or Ultimate) you'll also get the Light-Bearer and Temptation.

Otherwise, though, you'll find other mounts out in the wild. In Diablo IV, mounts can randomly drop from anything, but you'll have your best chances looking for them in dungeons, strongholds, and especially Legion events. While on the hunt for mounts, keep an eye out for fan-favorite, the spectral mount.

Also, you can get saddles from pre-ordering, purchasing, and random drops, too. However, the only saddle for sale in the stable is the Sturdy Saddle, which costs nearly a whopping five million gold. So save up for that one.
