The Strongest Items in Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 9

One of the most important parts of playing Teamfight Tactics (TFT) well is itemization. You could have the best team comp, but if you don't put good items on the right champions, your team will be doomed. So, if you want to do your best in Set 9, you should learn what items to use. However, if perfecting every "best item" build intimidates you, here's a general guide to the strongest items in TFT Set 9.

What Are the best Item Components in TFT Set 9?

If you're absolute lost about items and don't want to overcomplicate it, you can simplify it down to good components. That way, if you choose good components from carousels or shops, you'll still have a better shot and well-itemizing your team. There are four key item components that do the most work in TFT Set 9:

B.F. Sword (Attack Damage)
Needlessly Large Rod (Ability Power)
Recurve Bow (Attack Speed)
Giant's Belt (Health)

What are the Strongest Items in TFT?

Once you move past just picking good components, there are a handful of items that make a good impact on most any game. So let's go through all six and explain how to build them, how they work, and who to put them on.

Guinsoo's Rageblade

This is one of the most popular items of all TFT sets. When equipped on a champion, Guinsoo's Rageblade adds 10% Attack Speed, +10 Attack Power, and baisc attacks grant 6% bonus attack speed. This stat stacks. You build this item by combining a Recurve Bow and a Needlessly Large Rod.

The best units for Guinsoo's Blade tends to be back-line carry units that attack quickly but still have quite an impactful ultimate. In Set 9, champions like this include Aphelios, Azir, Kai'Sa, and Zeri.

Bloodthirster

Fitting for its name, Bloodthirster gives +10 Attack Damage, +20 Magic Resist, and physical damage heals for 33% of damage dealt. Also, the wearer gains a 30% maximum health shield for five seconds if they fall below 40% maximum health. To make Bloodthirster, you use a B.F. Sword and a Negatron Cloak.

If you're using Bloodthirster in your build, the best units for it tend to be heavy-hitting melee champions like Yasuo, Darius, or Garen.

Redemption

The first tank item of this collection, Redemption gives champions +150 Health and +15 starting Mana. Its passive effect is that, every five seconds, the wearer radiates an aura that heals allies for 18% missing health. Also, affected allies take 25% reduced AOE damage for five seconds. This only effects allies within one hex. Making a Redemption takes a Giant's Belt and a Tear of The Goddess.

When using Redemption, your best tank candidates tend to be thick front-liners with powerful ultimate abilities, so the bonus Mana will help them cast faster. Top Redemption tanks include Maokai, Taric, Jarvan IV, and Sejuani.

Warmog's Armor

In LoL and TFT, Warmog's Armor is the quintessential tank item. It gives the wearer +1000 Health. It's just a great Health boost for anyone taking the brunt of enemy damage. All it takes is two Giant's Belts and you can have your own Warmog's.

Most all tanky front-liners are great candidates for Warmog's Armor. It's a very solid TFT item.

Jeweled Gauntlet

Whenever mage units are powerful, so is Jeweled Gauntlet. This item gives its users +15% critical hit chance, +30% critical damage, and +2- Ability Power. Meanwhile, this Jeweled Gauntlet also lets the magic and true damage dealt from the holder's abilities critically strike. So, it makes critical striking relevant to heavy-hitting abilities, especially ones that strike multiple times. You make a Jeweled Gauntlet with a Needlessly Large Rod and Sparring Gloves.

Any carry units with powerful multi-hit ultimate abilities, like Azir, Gwen, Kai'Sa, Karma, Katarina, and Lux, are great champions for Jeweled Gauntlet.

Zeke's Herald

Especially during the early parts of Set 9, Zeke's Herald was absolutely unstoppable. It gives its wearers +10 Attack Damage, +150 Health, and most importantly, gives the allies on the wearer's left and right 30% bonus attack speed for the rest of combat. When making Zeke's Herald, you need a B.F. Sword and a Giant's Belt.

Any carry unit who hits a lot and fast can use a Zeke's Herald on their right or left. This could work for your front-line or back-line, but in the current meta, its top users are Darius and Jayce.
