Feeling nostalgic or just looking to experience one of the most controversial Call of Duty titles to date? S1x is a modified client for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which features new content and cheat-protected, dedicated servers.
Due to the nature of the project, S1x is only available on PC. It is not possible to accomplish on consoles.
How to Install S1x
While it is possible to play S1x without owning the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare base game on Steam, we do not condone piracy and therefore will not be providing the methods to install the client this way. To install S1x, download and extract the S1x client files into your Advanced Warfare installation folder, this is typically located at the following location...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare
Once that is done, simply run the S1x launcher and dive into the expanded Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare universe!
Support
If you're looking for support with S1x, be sure to visit the X Labs Discord server. We're just reporting on an awesome mod, we can't help you with any of the issues that you may come across!
Is S1x Safe?
S1x is an entirely separate client from the retail copy which is available on Steam. Because of this, no Steam services are used, only the game's assets. There is no risk of VAC ban, and anything done on your S1x account will not carry over to the Steam version of the game.
The project is also open source, meaning that at any moment, you can view the entirety of the source code for the S1x client. This way, if you're familiar with software and reverse engineering, you can determine exactly what the mod is doing.
Why Play S1x?
It's no secret that the Call of Duty titles tend to degrade in quality over the years, especially on PC. This is partially due to the repetitiveness of experiencing the same content for so long, but the biggest issue is the infestation of cheaters. The goal of S1x is to revive and enhance the Advanced Warfare experience.
Server Browser
As S1x is currently in its early stages of development, the primary focus of the mod is to improve the base experience of the game before adding new content. One of the biggest features at the moment is the Server Browser, which allows players to host and join lobbies with specific rule and map sets.

Unlock All
Because of the low population of legacy Call of Duty titles, especially Advanced Warfare, it is nearly impossible to legitimately progress through the ranks and unlock all of the content which the game has to offer. Because of this, S1x offers an Unlock All feature which will grant the player access to all unlockable content in the game. This includes each and every item that is available only in Supply Drops, eliminating the horrendous randomness of the title's loot systems.
Note: As previously explained, this modification will not be reflected in the official game client.
Cheats
In cheat-enabled servers or private matches, players have access to the developer console which is typically inaccessible to players. This offers a wide range of modifications that the player can utilize to customize their experience. Developer commands range from simply disabling the HUD to enabling no-clip and allowing the player to fly around the map.
These tools could be especially utilized by content creators to get the perfect camera effects and angels for their cinematic footage. At the same time, using commands to set the player movement speed to 10x is an incredibly fun time with friends!
Mod Support
In the future, as S1x evolves, it's expected that the client will support content mods. This system can be found in the well-established IW4x client which contains several new maps and weapons for players to use in the Modern Warfare 2 engine.
