How to counter Sombra in Overwatch 2

Since being introduced to Overwatch years ago, Sombra has had moments where she is a menace. She largely has free roam to run around the map while invisible, and if she hacks you, you lose access to your abilities momentarily. With that in mind, setting your team up for success when playing against her is a good idea. Here is how to counter Sombra in Overwatch 2.

Best counters for Sombra in Overwatch 2

Starting off with the best heroes to play against Sombra, you want someone who can do at least one of three things: stun or trap her, distract her from hacking high-value targets on your team, or kill her very quickly before she teleports away. Here is a list of characters we find are good for those:

· Ana – There are no great Support choices for countering Sombra, but Ana is probably the closest. You will need to be able to hit her with your Sleep Dart and bring your teammates around to finish her off.

· Junkrat – As Junkrat, lay your trap in the right spot and hit her with grenades and your mine to take her down quickly.

· Roadhog – Roadhog’s hook will stun her and prevent her from getting any value on her assaults.

· Sombra – Sombra vs. Sombra battles revolve around who can get the hack off on the other one first.

· Torbjorn – Torbjorn’s turret can hit her from far away whenever she appears and will distract her from focusing on the team.

· Widowmaker – Venom Mine will reveal her location when she sets it off, and Widowmaker’s ultimate will show where she is when active.

The thing about fighting Sombra is you need to hit her with a powerful assault whenever you see her. Even when you see her or she slips up, you must hit an accurate shot to take her down. Avoid using the following heroes against her at all costs:

· Baptiste

· Doomfist

· Lifeweaver

· Pharah

· Sigma

· Tracer

· Wrecking Ball

· Zenyatta

Fighting a good Sombra can be a very difficult challenge. As noted above, you need at least a little skill in most situations to either cancel her hack before it gets off or hit her with a quick one-shot kill.
