After a year-long absence, the long-anticipated Blue Essence Emporium is finally set to make its comeback in League of Legends.
During the recent League of Legends developer update titled "Mid-Year Check In," Executive Producer Jeremy Lee, also known as Riot Brightmoon, and Head of League Studio, Andrei van Roon, also known as Riot Meddler, delved into the upcoming content and features planned for the game in the year 2023. They discussed the highly anticipated return of the Blue Essence Emporium, the future of the Arena game mode, Quickplay, the new champion named Briar and more.
The Essence Emporium is a Blue Essence sale that takes place twice in a year allowing you to purchase chromas, emotes, a mystery icon, ward skin, the rare Urfwick skin and more.
Currently, Blue Essence in League of Legends serves limited purposes and most players just end up having thousands of it with no additional outlets for its use. Having that said, its addition to the game becomes a great opportunity for players who have been playing the game for a long time to spend their Blue Essence in exchange for cool items and accessories.
Unfortunately, the Emporium was put on hold in June 2023 to undergo a rework aimed at enhancing its sustainability. Fortunately, it did not take long before it comes back to League of Legends.
When will the Blue Essence Emporium return in League of Legends
Riot Brightmoon and Meddler confirmed that the Emporium is making its way to League of Legends Patch 13.17. According to the LoL Patch Schedule, Patch 13.17 is set to be released on August 30, 2023, giving you ample time to prepare for its arrival. Not much is known yet about the changes and tech improvement to be implemented. However, it was mentioned that they intend to maintain its biyearly format.
Prior to its arrival, they also disclosed that the mass disenchant feature will be made available. This will grant players the convenience of easily disenchanting all selected champion shards they no longer need with just one simple click.
