On Friday, November 6th, 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 released worldwide across all major platforms. In this release, Zombies fans took to the streets of Morg City to combat the undead and embrace the curse to uncover its mysteries. Along their quest to avert the apocalypse, players are introduced to Li'l Arnie, an easily overlooked creature with formidable abilities - serving as a story-driven substitute for the Monkey Bomb.
In the release build of Black Ops 3, Li'l Arnie can be obtained via the Mystery Box and upgraded through a sequence of events. However, the original means of acquiring the interdimensional equipment were significantly more involved. Let's take a look at a cut quest for capturing Li'l Arnie!

Li'l Arnie Capture Quest
COD Tracker has obtained a work-in-progress build of Black Ops 3 from Monday, April 13th, 2015; 207 days before the title's release. Thanks to these efforts, we're able to provide an exclusive first-look at the Li'l Arnie Capture Quest!
The relevant script for this quest is attributed to Henry Schmitt, a former Game Designer at Treyarch from 2012 to 2016. Two references to Schmitt can also be found within Shadows of Evil, including a storefront and photo of the Developer.

Obtain a Keeper Jar
Upon beginning a match on Shadows of Evil, a number of Keeper Jars will spawn in each District - Canal, Footlight, Waterfront, and Junction - dependent upon the number of players in the match. Each District has a single location, referred to as "Keeper Storerooms", in which the Keeper Jar will spawn on a table.
The players simply need to locate and interact with a Keeper Jar to collect it.
This quest can be completed by a single player, regardless of the state of the other players in the match.

Upgrade to the Magic Keeper Jar
Once the player has obtained a Keeper Jar, they would then complete an objective which would upgrade its state to the Magic Keeper Jar. Unfortunately, in this build of the game, the Magic Keeper Jar is not naturally obtainable; the player is immediately given the upgraded jar at the end of the previous step.

Capture Li'l Arnie
Once the player has obtained the Magic Keeper Jar, they will be given one chance per round to capture Li'l Arnie.
First, a District is chosen at random, then, two points within the District are chosen at random. The points within the District are referred to as "doors", each of which has an "exit" and "enter" sound. As these points do not exist in the final build, you'll need to use your imagination as to what they looked like.
After the randomized locations are chosen, unique FX and audio will play for a short period of time to draw the player near. Li'l Arnie will then move from one door to the other at a speed which increases overtime. This process is referred to as "dashing" and "scurrying" by the Developers.
To capture Li'l Arnie, the player must be within 128 units of it, and then interact to put it into the Keeper Jar.

Throw Li'l Arnie
Once Li'l Arnie is captured, the player can throw the populated Keeper Jar to utilize its offensive capabilities. Unlike the final build, however, this can only be done once as the Keeper Jar will break and Li'l Arnie will escape.
To use the equipment again, proceed to the next round for the Keeper Jar to reform, then capture Li'l Arnie once again.
