Ubisoft announces XDefiant Closed Beta

After the cross-play Insider Session for XDefiant earlier this year, Ubisoft is now preparing a Closed Beta for the upcoming shooter. Those looking to jump back into the game will be able to when it opens next week.

After a successful playtest in February, the Closed Beta for Ubisoft's XDefiant will begin on Thursday April 13, 10:00 AM PT.

The Closed Beta will include several new features not part of the Insider Session. Those who do join the beta will gain access to a work in progress build of XDefiant's competitive ranked mode and gain rewards that carry over to future phases of the game. Here are all of the rewards included in the beta:

• M4A1 “Disruption” Weapon Skin
• Emery “Dungaree” Character Skin
• M870 “Cobalt” Weapon Skin
• Emoji “XD Style”
• Magnum “Black & Bling” Weapon Skin
• MP7 “Graffiti” Weapon Skin
• MK20 “Pelagic” Weapon Skin
• Quinn “Hi-Velocity” Character Skin
• MVP/Profile/KS “Hi-Velocity” Player Card
• MP5 “TechX” Weapon Skin

There will also be a new map titled Echelon HQ. It's an arena built for spies and fans of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell should be familiar with it.

Along with all of that, players can earn new violet weapons by watching Twitch streams.

Players will gain the Phantom ability called Blitz Shield that boosts their attack or defense. Plus, a new progression system will keep track of completed challenges that when finished unlock new weapons and characters. Finally, a new profile tab will include customization and challenges tiles.

The XDefiant Closed Beta will be available for 11 days until the server closes on April 23, 11:00 PM PT. Players can register here to be part of the beta.
