Day 11 and the fifth day of the Omega Bracket in the VCT LOCK//IN tournament took place today and here's a recap of all the action!
100 Thieves 2-1 FUT Esports
The first matchup of the day was NA team 100 Thieves against EMEA team FUT Esports. 100 Thieves started things out good, winning the first two rounds in the first half of the first map, which was Lotus. They won five more rounds to go up with a score of 7-5 at halftime. However, FUT Esports had other plans in the second half to stop 100T. They won eight out of ten rounds to win the game with a score of 13-9.
The second map was Haven. 100 Thieves took a 7-5 lead after the first half and things were looking good for them. 100T again won the first two pistol rounds in the second half. However, FUT then won five straight rounds and they were up 10-9. 100 Thieves then surged ahead and won four of the next five rounds to win the game. The final score was 13-11.
It all came down to the final map, which was Icebox. 100 Thieves looked dominant in the first half by winning eight rounds and going up 8-4. FUT Esports started off the second half with a little more steam, winning four out of five rounds, but unfortunately their luck ran out there. 100 Thieves then won the next four rounds to win the game with a final score of 13-8.
Leading 100 Thieves were Cryocells and Asuna. The former had a KDA of 56-50-23 through all maps and the latter had a KDA of 54-47-42 through all maps, respectively. On the other side, leading FUT Esports was qw1, who had a KDA of 67-56-8 through all three maps. Incredible stuff from the Duelist player, but unfortunately it wasn't enough for his team to win.
With the win, 100 Thieves now advance to the Omega Group Semifinals where they will face off against FNATIC on February 27th. With the loss, this means FUT Esports are now eliminated from the tournament and sent home. They played really well and should be proud of themselves.

FNATIC 2-0 FURIA
The second and final matchup of the day was between EMEA team FNATIC and Brazilian team FURIA. The first map, Haven, was one of the closest games we've seen throughout this whole tournament. FURIA opened up the first half by winning three of four rounds. FNATIC then won seven rounds straight. The score at halftime was 8-4 in FNATIC's favor. The second half was chaos, with things going back and forth, but FURIA managed to win eight rounds to force overtime. OT was even crazier, with there being ten rounds. FURIA won the first round, to go up 13-12, but then FNATIC tied it up at 13-13. The same thing happened again and now it was tied at 14-14. FNATIC this time won the first round to go up 15-14, but then FURIA bounced back and won, tying things up at 15-15. The same thing happened again and now things were all tied up at 16-16. This is where FNATIC had a boost of confidence and won two straight rounds to win the game. The final score was 18-16. A crazy map.
The second map, Ascent, was a little less exciting. FNATIC again led 8-4 after the first half. FURIA initially made a comeback, tying things up at 8-8, but then FNATIC rebounded well and won five of the next six rounds to win the game. The final score was 13-9.
Leading FNATIC was Leo, who had a KDA of 44-34-19 through both maps. Leading FURIA was mwzera, who had a KDA of 53-41-13 through both maps as well. Incredible stuff from him, but unfortunately it wasn't enough for the win.
With the win, FNATIC now advance to the Semifinals of the Omega Bracket. Their next matchup comes against 100 Thieves on February 27th. With the loss, this means that FURIA is eliminated from the tournament.
