The best Valorant agents for solo queuing

Whether you’re looking to hit Valorant rank or just hoping to pop off in public matches, picking the right agent is very important when playing as a solo.

Whilst Valorant is a team game, and it’s normally easier to be consistent with a group of friends, this isn’t always possible. Sometimes solo queuing is the only option, and with a good choice of agent this can be just as fun.

Phoenix

Ready for action? Phoenix is the man for the job if you have a fast play style and want to come out as top fragger. You’re going to be the one leading the charge for your team, so don’t pick Phoenix if you’re scared to fight.

Use the Curveball ability to safely peek around corners, pushing any enemies that you blind. When playing as Phoenix, you should very rarely finish a round without having used both of your two flashes.

Raze

Although she received a nerf in the 0.47 patch for being overpowered, Raze is still very much built for dealing damage. Her kit will have you picking up kills all over the map, no wonder she has been one of the most popular choices during the closed beta.

A major issue with solo queuing can be the lack of communication. If your teammates aren’t all using game chat, it can be hard to play as a unit and devise strategies. One way to counter this problem is to slay out with Raze and leave as little work to your squad as possible.

Cypher

If you have a slightly less aggressive playstyle, then Cypher may be the way to go. At the moment, his set of surveillance-based skills are incredibly powerful, and many teams don’t really know how to deal with them.

Learn some good spots to place tripwire and use the Cyber Cage to lock off specific choke points. The most important part of Cypher’s kit is his Spycam Signature Ability. Once you get the hang of him, you will be able to effectively hold two flanks at the same time.
