Sentinels reveal star-studded Valorant roster

North American esports organisation Sentinels recently announced their plans to expand into Valorant with the signing of four new players.

Based in Los Angeles, Sentinels have already proven that they don’t mess around when it comes to talent acquisition. Back in February this year, they signed the entire roster of reigning Halo World Champion’s, TOX Gaming. On top of this they are home to current Fortnite World Cup Champion Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf as well as an impressive Apex Legends line up.

Well now they have turned their attention to Valorant. With Riot still planning on a summer 2020 release date for their new shooter, Sentinels want to be ready to compete from the off. Of course, this meant the addition of yet another World Champion.

Leading the team is Overwatch royalty, Jay “Sinatraa” Won. Sinatraa led the San Francisco Shock to glory at the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals, picking up the MVP award for the season along the way. He was then named MVP again at the Overwatch World Cup where he guided Team USA to their first ever victory.

The Sentinels didn’t have to look too far for their second player. Jared “Zombs” Gitlin is transferring to Valorant following a successful stint on the Sentinels Apex Legends squad. Early signs show that his FPS skills are very much up to this new challenge.

No Valorant team would be complete without a couple of ex Counter-Strike pros. Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan and Hunter “SicK” Mims both have buckets of experience when it comes to esports. The pair will no doubt play a pivotal role in the forming of clever strategies to outmanoeuvre opponents.

Sentinels are still on the hunt for their fifth and final member, but this is definitely shaping up to be a dangerous force. It will be interesting to see if this early investment in Valorant pays off and how these players from different titles all mesh together.
