Remarks
I think we're all a bit unsatisfied that the true tier 1 lineups weren't able to show up and roll on everyone. TSM, Sentinels, and Envy withdrew from the event which led to the last second inclusion of additional talent
On the other hand, bubble teams don't become tier 1 talent without showing up and winning regional events like the Pulse Series Invitational
I'm personally most excited to see how China Nguyen performs this weekend. The squad is ranked 10th in North America (according to VLR.GG) and is the highest ranked free agent team. A stellar performance over the next few days could push them over the edge
In regards to signed teams, this event could very well be the launching pad for Renegades, Built By Gamers, or Complexity who rank 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively. While the three teams haven't been performing too hot recently, one is almost guaranteed to come out ahead of the pack this weekend
Good luck to all teams participating; we'll be quietly watching (and reporting) in the meantime
