Paper Rex are trialing Ilya "something" Petrov after their early exit at VCT LOCK//IN, according to a report from Dot Esports. If he were to join, it would likely be as a substitute player, although other roster changes may happen as well.
The Russian player has made headlines recently after posting incredible stats in his recent matches in the Japanese Challengers League with Sengoku Gaming.
In an interview with Dot Esports, something said that his goal was to play at the highest level in North America. Perhaps if he joins Paper Rex he'll be one step closer.
Paper Rex lost their first and only matchup in the VCT LOCK//IN tournament by losing to Cloud9 in the first round. Roster changes therefore make sense for the APAC team.
Paper Rex will compete in the VCT Pacific League, which is set to begin on March 26.
