Nintendo Switch Online Subscribers Can Avoid Paying $70 For Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Switch Online Now Has A New Hidden Value

Nintendo gave us a breathtaking trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to 2017's Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What also took the wind out of fans of the hit series though had nothing to do with what is to come in-game. After today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed Tears of the Kingdom will be priced at $69.99, $10 more than any other flagship title for the Switch.

Nintendo confirmed to various outlets that they will not blanket price every new flagship title at $69.99 but that every title will be evaluated on a case by case basis. However, they did leave one loop hole available for Nintendo Switch Online Subscribers.

Currently, Nintendo is offering subscribers the ability to purchase Game Vouchers at the price of $99.98 for two. These vouchers are eligible to be redeemed for many flagship titles such as Pokemon Scarlet, Mario Party Superstars, and yes, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

While it might not be the best deal if Tears of the Kingdom is the only game you plan on adding to your collection, this workaround will save players who already subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online a good bit of cash if they do have another game to add to their collection, whether it be Breath of the Wild or even just Luigi's Mansion (get it if you haven't already).
