Ninja Has a New Job as Chief Innovation Officer at GameSquare

He's Aiming To Build “The Next Big Thing in Gaming”

Streaming icon Ninja has joined esports media company GameSquare as Chief Innovation Officer.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is undoubtedly one of the most famous names in gaming. Since exploding in popularity during the Fortnite boom in 2018, he’s done everything from TV appearances and film cameos, to writing books and making music.

Following Ninja’s brief (and lucrative) spell at Mixer, he’s been back live on all platforms. But now it’s time for something more…

Don’t worry, the streams aren’t going anywhere! Instead, Blevins is taking on a bit of extra responsibility to work toward his vision for the industry.

Ninja has accepted the position of Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at GameSquare. They are an international media company, focused on helping global brands to connect and interact with gaming and esports fans.

As CIO, Blevins will take charge of Ninja Labs, an innovation hub for ideating and developing original concepts and products directly focused on connecting with youth culture.

“I want to build the next big thing in gaming, and I found that in GameSquare. Justin and the team have put together a world-class platform that will help me innovate and create engaging experiences to inspire the next generation of streamers and leave a lasting impact on the industry”, explained Ninja in the official press release.

GameSquare is already home to a small army of superstar creators including TimTheTatman, Cloakzy, and the Baka Bros. With Ninja onboard, they now boast a collective reach of over 290 million followers.

The announcement doesn’t go into too much detail about exactly what Ninja will be working on, but no doubt we’ll find out more soon. This isn’t just a small partnership or advisory role however, and it looks like he’ll be super hands-on at GameSquare.
