Mythic Items Will Be Removed From League of Legends for Ranked Season 2024

A massive change is about to come for LoL Ranked Season 2024.

A dev blog was recently released, detailing all the changes, additions, and everything you should know about the upcoming LoL Ranked Season 2024. The developers went on to discuss changes to the ranked system, the return of game modes, and preseason alterations. Furthermore, they've also unveiled another significant change by removing mythic-tier items.

On August 28, Pu Liu, also known as 'Riot Pupulaser,' made the official announcement that Mythic items would be departing from League of Legends starting in January 2024. This decision stems from the difficulty of catering to the diverse needs of every champion, as the mythic-tier system doesn't suit all of them.

With this change, the game will revert to its previous state, allowing players to once again build two mythic items, such as Stormrazor and Infinity Edge, and freely customize their item builds.

Players can anticipate these alterations to take effect on January 9, 2024, coinciding with the beginning of the first split of Ranked Season 2024. Furthermore, these changes will be unveiled during the preseason, scheduled to arrive in the PBE on November 20, 2023.
